Hi, I’m Paula, founder of Bosom’d — and like so many women, my journey started with frustration.
For years, I struggled to find a bra that truly fit — not just one that “worked,” but one that was comfortable, supportive, and beautiful. As someone blessed with a fuller bust and a narrower band size, I quickly realized that most bras simply weren’t designed with bodies like mine in mind. The underwires never fit properly, and when I did find a bra that came close, the options were always the same: white, nude, black — plain, uninspired, and often uncomfortable.
And I wasn’t alone.
Every conversation I had with other women revealed the same story: bras that didn’t fit, wires that dug in, styles that felt outdated, and a complete lack of color, design, or choice — especially for those of us with fuller busts. We were expected to settle for “good enough.”
I knew there had to be a better way.
The Journey To Bosom’d
The turning point came when I had a custom bra made just for me. For the first time, I experienced what a truly perfect fit felt like—one that conformed to my body rather than forcing my body to conform to it. That experience sparked a question…
“Why isn’t this level of customization available to every woman, easily and affordably?”
That’s when the idea for Bosom’d and the BD Sizing Sidekick was born. I wanted to create a way for women to measure themselves at home with precision – no awkward department store fittings, no confusing size charts, no complex math. And honestly? I wanted a system for women, designed by a woman. Our proprietary patented sizing system considers not just your cup and band size but also your breast volume and width to ensure a tailored, supportive fit—your perfect fit.

Inside the Making of Bosom’d
Of course, bringing this vision to life was no small feat. While I had extensive experience launching medical devices, the fashion industry was entirely new terrain. Every step—designing the measuring system, finding the right manufacturers, sourcing high-quality materials—presented challenges. But I believe every obstacle is an opportunity, and with an incredible team by my side, including my husband (our CIO), my best friend (our COO), and even my step-sons pitching in, we tackled every challenge head-on. One step, one adjustment, and one breakthrough at a time, we’ve worked to make Bosom’d a reality.
